Tiny Bites Big Wins A group feeding therapy programme for fussy and restrictive eaters

You’ve tried the reward charts, the divided plates, the hidden veg and the one-bite rule. Your child is still eating the same foods.

Every mealtime feels like a battle you didn’t start and can’t win. Your child is stuck on the same preferred foods and the list feels like it’s shrinking, not growing.

The advice from everyone around you hasn’t helped either.

“They’ll eat when they’re hungry.” “Just stop making separate meals.” “They’ll grow out of it.”

It’s the second dinner you cook every night and the argument with your partner about whether you should.

It’s the birthday party you leave early and the play date where you pack your child’s own food. It’s the comments from family every time you eat together.

Somewhere along the way, you became the parent who counts every bite at dinner.

You’re not failing. You just haven’t had the support yet that YOU and your child need.

You cannot change what a child eats until you change how food feels to them

Child in kitchen cutting up food

Fussy and selective eating isn’t just about food. It’s about how food feels the textures, the smells, the anxiety, the sensory overwhelm that makes a new food on the plate feel genuinely threatening to your child.

And you cannot change what a child eats without first changing how they feel about food.

That’s the clinical reality. And it’s the reason tips, tricks and hidden vegetables haven’t worked because they all start in the wrong place.

Tiny Bites, Big Wins starts in the right place. With understanding, with evidence-based strategies, and with two specialists in your corner who have spent their careers helping children like yours.

You’re not failing. You just haven’t had the support yet that your child needs

Possibility: A child who only wants beige food, or the same five dinners on repeat, can learn to try more not by pressure but with magical play and little bridges.

Simplicity: you don’t need a new routine for every meal. You need to change what happens before dinner even starts.

Speed: session one is about the environment, which is why parents notice mealtimes feeling different before their child has eaten a single new thing.

Emma Shafqat Paediatric Dietitian and Feeding Therapist

Hi, I’m Emma Shafqat

I dreaded mealtimes as a mum. My daughter wouldn’t put food or even toys in her mouth unless I spoon-fed her from a pouch. I had sweaty palms and genuine anxiety attacks before dinner. I know exactly what this feels like not just as a clinician but as a parent who has lived it.

I’m a Paediatric Dietitian and Feeding Therapist. One of the UK’s most recognised specialists in fussy and restrictive eating, with over a decades experience across the NHS, special needs schools and private practice. Featured in The Telegraph, The Daily Mail, iNews, The Sun and Women’s Health.

Teresa Foley

Hi, I’m Teresa Foley

Internationally recognised Paediatric Occupational Therapist with a high level of specialism in paediatric feeding, sensory integration and Autism. Clinician, researcher, contributor to the media and guest lecturer at Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin.

Together, we cover both sides of fussy and restrictive eating, that is both the nutrition and the sensory regulation and participation. That’s what makes this programme different to anything else out there.

Tiny Bites Big Wins

Tiny Bites, Big Wins is a live group feeding therapy programme for parents of children aged 1–6 who are fussy, selective or restrictive eaters. Designed and led by a Paediatric Dietitian and an Occupational Therapist who between them have worked with hundreds of families navigating exactly what you’re going through.

Over 5 fortnightly sessions, starting 22nd September 2026 we’ll take you through a step-by-step process to understand what’s driving your child’s eating difficulties, reshape what’s happening at mealtimes, and build real, practical confidence with food one tiny step at a time. Every session will be recorded

This is not a quick fix. It’s not about forcing your child to eat. It’s about building a positive, lasting relationship with food that starts from exactly where your child is right now.

Session 1 Creating Happy Mealtimes 22nd September 2026 8pm (1 hour)

Food refusal isn’t always about the food. In this session we look at what’s happening around mealtimes: the routines, the language, the pressure points and how to reshape the environment so your child feels calm and safe enough to start exploring. This is where mealtimes start to feel different.

Session 2: The Nutrition Safety Net - 6th October 2026 8pm

Using the Libro app, we review the foods you log and provide a clear analysis of your child’s diet.

In the session we will look at nutrition what your child is actually getting and what might be missing and how to make really easy changes.

Session 3: Regulating Eating - 20th October 2026 8pm

Understanding your child’s sensory preferences for food and eating is essential, especially when supporting little ones who might be anxious about the texture or colour of food. This session will also focus on emotional regulation, both for the child and caregivers before and during mealtimes! We will learn to recognise some potential triggers as well and some essential do’s and donts when supporting these little ones to eat well.

Session 4: The Food Lab - 3rd November 2026 8pm

This is where the fun begins. We share the practical, evidence-based strategies we use in our clinics including playful, pressure-free food exploration for children. No pressure to eat. Just curiosity, confidence and tiny steps forward. Then we introduce food chaining, one of the most powerful tools in feeding therapy, and help you build tiny, deliberate bridges from safe foods to new ones. This is where real progress starts to happen.

Session 5: Locking in progress and planning ahead - 17th November 2026 8pm

We focus on how to maintain the changes you’ve made through sickness, transitions, setbacks and the situations outside the home that feel hardest (birthday parties, school dinners, friends’ houses). We also look at how to keep building confidence long after the programme ends, and what to do if you feel your child needs more support.

Imagine this

A mealtime that doesn’t start with dread.

A child who can sit at the table and look at what’s on their plate without panicking or melting down.

A family dinner where everyone is eating together. Same meal. No separate plates, no backup beige, no silent prayers that tonight will be different.

A child who tries something new. Not because you forced them, not because you bribed them, but because food has started to feel safe enough to explore.

A lunchbox you pack with confidence. A birthday party your child can attend without you spending the whole day worrying. A school dinner they actually come home talking about.

More than anything, the knowledge that your child is getting what they need. That they’re nourished. That they’re growing. That you did something about it, at exactly the right time.

That’s what Tiny Bites, Big Wins builds towards. One tiny, brave step at a time.

What this actually costs

Private sessions with the two of us together would cost over £800. Tiny Bites Big Wins gives you five live sessions with both of us for £249.

The second dinner you cook every night has a price too, in food and in an hour of your evening.

The last programme you’ll need before Christmas dinner.

Is Tiny Bites, Big Wins right for your family?

It might be exactly what you need if:

  • Mealtimes are stressful and emotional when anything new or unfamiliar is on the plate
  • You’ve tried multiple strategies and nothing seems to work
  • You’d like more variety on the plate and peace of mind that mealtimes are heading in the right direction
  • You’re tired of making separate meals and wish your child would eat what everyone else eats
  • You’re done with the unhelpful opinions, and you want someone to just tell you what to do
  • You’re willing to change what actually happens at your table, not just what’s on the plate.
  • You’ve done researching everything and you’re exhausted by how much of it contradicts itself.

This programme works well for children aged 1 to 6 years old with fussy eating. If your child has more complex medical needs or you’re unsure whether this is the right level of support, book a free discovery call and we’ll be honest with you about whether it’s the right fit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a payment plan?

Yes payment plans are available for both options.

You can choose to spread the cost over two monthly payments:

First Bite
Two payments of £124.50 over 2 months.

The Brave Middle
Two payments of £199.50 over 2 months.

If you have any questions about which option is right for your family, please feel free to get in touch – email em**@*************************co.uk  I’m always happy to help you decide.

I've tried everything already why would this be different?

Fair question. You’ve probably tried the reward charts, the hiding-vegetables tricks, the “just one more bite” negotiations, maybe even a book or two. And if none of it has stuck, it’s not because you didn’t try hard enough it’s because most advice treats fussy eating as a food problem, when it’s usually a feelings problem.

That’s the piece most approaches miss. Tiny Bites Big Wins is led by a Paediatric Dietitian and an Occupational Therapist working together, because what’s happening at your table is rarely just about the food on the plate it’s sensory, it’s emotional, it’s about trust building back up over time. You get both sides addressed at once, not just a meal plan.

What if I can't make a live session?

Every session is recorded so you won’t miss anything. You can catch up at a time that suits you and still ask questions via the WhatsApp group.

I don't have time to do a programme

It’s a fair thought but the mealtimes you’re already living through are taking up time too. The worrying, the separate dinners, the bracing yourself before eating out that’s not free. It’s just time you’re spending without anything changing.

Five sessions, spread over ten weeks, with recordings if you miss one. It’s less time than you’re already giving this problem just pointed somewhere that moves things forward.

What if I have a question between sessions?

The private WhatsApp group gives you access to support and guidance from Emma and Teresa between every session.

Will my child need to be present?

No this programme is for parents. Everything you learn you’ll take back to your child and implement at home.

Is there a payment plan?

Yes you can make two payments £113 over 2 months

I have another question not addressed here.
Please don’t hesitate to send me an email em**@*************************co.uk with any questions you have about the Confident Eater Programme.

Ten weeks from now it’s a Tuesday evening in November and dinner is on the table. One meal, no backup plate, and your child is sitting down calmly.
